Managing Change – first line, middle & senior managers
It’s tempting to think of change as a temporary phase, but change is constant as the world becomes more VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) than ever. The truth is that everything changes all the time, in our environment, our work and personal lives. Therefore, it serves us well to understand change more fully, to build our skills, knowledge, capability and capacity to respond to and manage change positively and protect our resilience to make the most of the opportunities and challenges that emerge and confront us.
This Leadership Skillset will look at change and the effect of change on individuals and teams and provides tools, techniques and guidance on how to deal with change to achieve positive outcomes. In a world going through an unprecedented time we need to develop the skills and attributes needed to sustain both the people we manage and ourselves in times of change.
The Skillset will provide the tools, methods and structure to explore how this can be achieved successfully using proven techniques based on the experience of theorists and practical work based examples
Content Overview:
- Understand what creates and drives successful change
- Explore reasons for change and the impact change can have on individuals, productivity and performance
- How to identify the difference between change and transition
- Understand a Manager’s role in the change process
- Identify the different stages of personal transition and how this can affect team dynamics
- Provide tools and techniques to work through potential blockers to change, including the ‘Immunity to Change’ model
Workshop style and approach:
The workshop will be highly interactive balancing activities, facilitator input, group discussions, videos and group examples to explore the topics
Participants will be encouraged to use real working examples giving them a plan and structure to return to the workplace and apply the learning into their role, sharing their learning with colleagues and team to support the organisation through transition and change.
