Personal & Team Resilience – first line, middle and senior managers
This Leadership Skillset has been designed for all managers, helping them to develop their own personal resilience, sharing their experiences with their teams so they too recognise the importance of developing their own resilience as individuals and as a team.
We face many challenges throughout the day. These can range from the pressure to do more, faster, having to make decisions and judgments under pressure, connecting and engaging with other colleagues and team members, delivering difficult messages whilst having to manage one’s self and one’s own emotions.
Resilience is the ability to face the constant change and struggles of every day and still come out working well. Resilience means bouncing back from difficulties and being equipped so that you can avoid going down in the first place.
Luthans (2002) describes resilience as “the positive psychological capacity to rebound. To “bounce back” from adversity, uncertainty, conflict, failure, or even positive change, progress or increased responsibility”.
In this Skillset we explore what makes up a resilient character and how to be a resilient leader in times of flux and change. We will look at how to develop and build team resilience, working to keep mind and body healthy, with tools and techniques you can use daily and will help everyone.
